Career Development

Career Development is a lifelong process which consists of managing learning, work, leisure, and transitions in order to move toward a personally determined and evolving preferred future.

UC Berkley offers many ways you can enhance and learn in your career, including the following:

  • The Wisdom Café is a place where Berkeley staff learn and share professional and career development ideas, stories, tips, and resources.
  • The Campus Career center offers career development and assessments as well as workshops for employees.
  • The Career Counseling library located in the courtyard of the Tang center offers a unique collection of books, files, directories and electronic resources on career opportunities.
  • The NOW (Next Opportunity at Work) conference is a yearly event that is designed to support staff career development through inspiring keynote speakers, concurrent workshops, and career planning resources. Visit UC Berkeley Division of Equity and Inclusion for a list of staff diversity initiatives and an archive of past NOW conferences.
