The Library Facilities Office in coordination with Mail & Transportation Services provides Library staff with the following services:
- Transportation of furniture, equipment, and salvage materials
- NRLF pickup and dropoff, service to U.C. Bindery, confidential storage materials
- Moving Steelcase furniture
- Emergency conservation transportation
- Scheduled UCSC/UCSF pick up, delivery, and vendor will-calls
To arrange for these services, contact Library Facilities with the necessary details. Please provide at least twenty-four hours notice of your needed service.
Transportation Services
Transportation Services provides assistance with workstation adjustments, item pickups, and minor repairs. It is also responsible for the pickup and delivery of paged library materials across campus and beyond.
Work Order Requests
Transportation Services performs workstation ergonomic improvements and adjustments, such as computer keyboard installation and assembly or reconfiguration of Steelcase workstations. For an ergonomic evaluation, please contact Library Business Services. This unit also picks up small items being sent to Excess and Salvage and performs minor furniture repair.
Online Paging
Patrons are able to electronically request books and other library materials from twenty-five campus libraries. Transportation Services retrieves paged items and delivers them the following day to the designated subject specialty library or affiliated library.
Northern Regional Library Facility (NRLF)
Transportation Services transports book trucks between Doe, Moffitt, the subject specialty libraries, affiliated libraries and NRLF. Full book trucks must be wrapped to ensure books don’t come loose in transit. Please contact Ryan Barnette to arrange preparation and transit of book trucks.
Pickup and Delivery
Subject Specialty and Affiliated Libraries
Mail pickup and delivery is provided to the fourteen subject specialty libraries between 9:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday through Friday. Outgoing mail must be in the Library's mailroom by 8:15 am for same-day delivery.
Special pickups, such as mail that exceeds the regular volume, can be arranged by sending an email to Sam Arrow. Please notify Library Mail Services whenever a library is going to be closed during regular delivery hours so that special delivery arrangements can be made.
Materials from affiliated libraries are transported to and from NRLF as needed. Deliveries to affiliated libraries and pickups of paged materials are available on request.
Doe and Moffitt
Mail for Doe and Moffitt Library units is delivered and picked up once a day between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, Monday through Friday. All outgoing mail should be separated into four categories: Library, Campus, USPS domestic, and USPS international.
