I. Announcements
- Looking for nominations for the Distinguished Librarian Award (R. Collins)

II. Member questions/concerns
Suggestions for questions for upcoming meetings with the UL
- Bring up messaging practices around library closures - seems too surprising for librarians
- Re messaging: How can LAUC-B help? Outreach? Sounding board?
- What’s happening with e-reserves?
- Idea: LAUC-B gathers ideas/experiences from membership about how to do strategic planning that actively involves the broad organization to share with UL and AULs
- Overall, need for more transparency from Cabinet level to help organization members’ think through issues at same rate, rather than being surprised

- Committee to submit reports electronically
- Date: May 11, 2002 (3-4:30 pm)
- Library Worker Listserv
- Recommendation is not to add a new listserv focused on racial justice. Too burdensome to moderate. Need instead to change library culture to allow for needed discussions.
- Still need a way to contact library workers in addition to those who can be reached on the LAUC-B list
- Idea: LAUC-B sponsors list and tasks a LAUC-B member to moderate
- Need for multiple moderators
- Need for it to be opt-in and have documented community standards
- Is this LAUC-B’s business? Need to decide whether it is or not
- Should we start with a pilot (time limited)? Good idea, especially at the end of the pilot we could (hopefully) make the case to Library Admin to take it over.
- New charge for this working group: develop scope and community norms to establish pilot for listserv
- Society of California Archivists recently did a lot of work redoing their code of conduct, might be good example
- LAUC-B Getting to Know You Mixer
- Upper Terrace is available week of commencement - this would need setup and take down
- Also contacted Raleigh’s and Free House
- Free House: back patio available (ask for dates), $300 reservation for space for 2 hours
- Should this be more of a social hour or a networking event around LAUC-B committees?
- Can we do both and keep it simple? Use nametags where people can say ‘Ask me about: [my committee]’
- ESL has a button-maker!
- Can we do both and keep it simple? Use nametags where people can say ‘Ask me about: [my committee]’
- Approved:
- Free House, rental fee
- Date: May 4, 4-6pm
- Need decision: Food/drink funding? There is a cap per person we can use for refreshments - need to ask LBO about that cap (L. Michels)
- Snacks: $10/person
- Drinks: $12-14/person
V. New Business
- Affiliated Libraries Representative to ExComm - Sine will serve Sep. 2021 -August 2022 and Sep. 2022-Aug. 2023
- This is to document the term for current membership
