Candidates for LAUC-B Offices

for Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect

Jesse Silva

I am honored to run for LAUC-B Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect. I have served LAUC-B in a number of different roles during my time at Berkeley, including Secretary, Library Representative, CAPA, and a couple of different conference committees. LAUC-B has a vital role to play in the upcoming strategic planning process. I look forward to contributing my experiences as LAUC-B collectively discusses and advises on professional issues and library priorities to help turn challenges into opportunities for our Library.  If elected, I welcome the opportunity to represent my librarian colleagues in these discussions as Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect.

for Secretary

Jennifer Dorner

It is my pleasure and privilege to run for the position of Secretary of LAUC-B. During my 15 years at Berkeley, I have served on a number of Library committees, including the 2020 Models Project Team, Collection Services Council, the Course Content Affordability Working Group, and the Data and Digital Scholarship Group. For LAUC-B I have served on the Conference Planning Committee, the Nominations & Elections Committee, and the Committee on Research, and I am currently the LAUC-B Webmaster. I welcome the opportunity to continue to contribute to LAUC-B and pledge to promptly prepare and distribute meeting minutes.

 for Library Representative

Christina Velazquez Fidler

I am honored to be considered for the position of LAUC-B Library Representative. I have been a member of LAUC-B for 9.5 years with service in the Professional Development and Research Committee, the Committee on Diversity, the LAUC-B 2021 Conference Planning Committee, and I established the Critical Librarianship Reading Group in 2020. My participation in The Affiliated Libraries and Archives Group (TALAG) while working at an independent special collections library outside of the main library helped me understand and appreciate the impact of our broader library campus community. I hope that my experience and service can be helpful to LAUC-B in continuing its efforts to support all campus librarians and staff. Thank you for your consideration.

Jackie Gosselar

I am honored to be considered for the position of Library Representative to the LAUC-B Executive Committee. I am the Systems and Discovery Services Librarian in Library IT. In my current role, I am a member of the UC Berkeley Library Equity & Inclusion Committee, I lead the UC Berkeley Library Alma/Primo VE Coordination Team (APriCoT), and represent UC Berkeley as the vice chair of the UC-wide SILS Operations Team and as a member of the Discovery Operations Subteam. As a librarian in a division which serves all other aspects of the UC Berkeley Library, and as the service lead for Alma and Primo VE, I have the opportunity to build relationships with staff across the Library, share knowledge, and collaborate to build a better system together. I endeavor to bring this commitment to belonging and service to LAUC-B as a Library Representative.

for Affiliated Library Representative-Elect / CALA Vice Chair

Kristie Chamorro

I’m honored to be considered for the position of LAUC-B Affiliated Library Representative-Elect/CALA Vice Chair.  I joined the UC Berkeley Law Library in March 2020 as the Instructional and Educational Technology Librarian.  I’ve enjoyed serving on several active committee positions with both the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the Northern California Association of Law Libraries (NOCALL).  I’m currently serving on the LAUC-B Distinguished Librarian Award Committee.  I’m very excited about the possibility of collaborating with my Library colleagues and contributing to the LAUC-B community through this position. Thank you for your consideration.
